When you choose to put your boots on the ground as a member of the armed forces, you may be eligible for student loan repayment.
To qualify for this award, you must be a non-prior service accession and enlist with a high school diploma for a minimum of three years.
An Armed Forces Qualification Test score of 50 or higher is required, and you must enlist in a critical military occupational specialty (MOS); these specialties change quarterly. A local recruiter will have the current list.
If you meet the requirements, you can receive 33 1/3% or $1,500 (whichever is greater) toward the remaining original unpaid principal on all qualifying loans for each successfully completed year of enlisted active duty, for up to three years total.

• Consolidation loans
• Perkins loans
• Supplemental loans for students (SLS)
